Business Development Manager (NEU) 

 

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to strengthen our sales team in Northern Europe (UK, Ireland and the Nordics), to help us support the sales team and qualify, nurture, and discover opportunities in our existing and new markets.  You are an energetic person with a solid sales or business development background and a knack for inside sales/tele-sales. As a team player, you will collaborate with colleagues in sales to understand target accounts, make initial lead contacts, build BD campaigns and maximize the value we get from early-stage engagement to build a strong pipeline.   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 As Business Development Manager, you will report to the Regional Director, Northern Europe, and cover the following areas:  

 

Sales 

  • Assist the Sales Team by:  
  • Generating leads and cold calling prospective customers 
  • Using demand gen tech to reach new prosects 
  • Finding the appropriate person to speak to within large prospect accounts  
  • Setting up meetings for AEs with key prospects 
  • Checking the network for tenders (RFI or RFP) that may be of interest  

 

New Market Development  

  • Assist the sales team by:  
  • Researching and identifying new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets 
  • Seeking out the appropriate contacts in an organisation, setting up meetings, and following up  
  • Conducting account and sector research, to understand our value proposition and guide your initial conversations. 

 

Events Sales Management 

  • Assist the Sales and Marketing Teams by: 
  • Identifying and attending relevant conferences  
  • Qualifying leads acquired through events, campaigns, and other activities  
  • Inviting key prospects to upcoming roundtable discussions, webinars, and events  
  • Inviting key prospects to speak at panels and forums hosted by Copperleaf  
  • Gathering event feedback to impact future agendas

Product Support Analyst – Database and ETL

The opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database and ETL Product Support Analyst to join our Cloud Operations team. As an integral part of our team, you will collaborate with the Support, SRE, and Product Development teams to ensure the smooth operation of our Oracle databases and ETL applications. This role requires a strong understanding of Oracle databases, AWS RDS, ETL processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support to multiple teams by troubleshooting and resolving Oracle-related application issues, including long-running and frequently running SQL queries, failures in our reporting ETL application (Reporting Data Source or RDS), and issues with client-managed on-premises Oracle databases
  • Assist cloud operations team in managing their fleet of Oracle databases, including AWS RDS instances, by conducting performance analysis and tuning, creating procedures, consulting on tools, procedures, and best practices, and resolving database-related problems
  • Advise software development team on industry common and best practices regarding Oracle security and administration, database design for scalability and performance, query performance optimization, and internationalization
  • Develop SQL queries and repair/migration scripts as needed
  • Gain a deep understanding of functional aspects of our software suite and how they support our clients' business processes

 

Your background:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience administering Oracle databases, particularly Standard Edition
  • Experience supporting AWS RDS
  • 2+ years of experience working with ETL applications
  • Familiarity with data warehouses, specifically Kimball-methodology design ("star schema")
  • Exposure to complex enterprise software application support
  • Strong understanding of IT concepts and principles, with ability to interact effectively with clients' IT and DBA teams
  • Experience working with software development teams, with solid understanding of release cycles
  • Willingness to occasionally be on-call during Canadian holidays and weekends

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in Oracle Database support and administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management
  • Familiarity with AWS RDS and experience in provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining Oracle RDS instances
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for developing queries, repair/migration scripts, and automation tasks
  • Ability to understand functional aspects of our software suite and how they support our clients' business processes

 

Salary:

The typical hiring range for this position is from $85,000 CAD to $110,000 CAD annually. The salary offered is based on market location and may vary depending on skills, experience, and internal equity. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and perks as a part of our compensation package.

Responsibilities:

Region & Language:

Your role will be based between your home, the Copperleaf office (if in Vancouver), and clients across North America. You can expect to be on the road around 20-30% of the time visiting clients. Your schedule and home location are flexible – balance your time to suit you!

  • Product Sales and Demonstrations
    • Sales Meetings:
      • Presenting our products (slides, demonstrations) at Sales Meetings
      • Developing presentation materials
    • Demo Management:

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is to create exceptional value for our clients, partners and shareholders through excellence in the delivery of professional service engagements to our clients in the APJ region.

The Director, Client Experience will also be required to occasionally take direct, hands-on responsibility for key projects and to contribute as a principal consultant. This is anticipated to be less than 20% of the total workload for this role. Primarily, this role will achieve success through the development, mentoring and deployment of CX team members.  Delegation of workload to achieve scalable systems and processes will be key to success.

  • Understand and practice the Copperleaf culture and model the culture for team members, partners and clients
  • Responsible for 360 reviews of all direct reports
  • Responsible to provide timely feedback to team members to help increase their performance and personal satisfaction

Qualifications

The successful candidate must:

As one of Copperleaf’s Account Executives you will be assigned customer accounts and drive the identification and qualification of opportunities while executing account strategy and generating license, support and services revenues.  This role is focused on working with new accounts who are not currently Copperleaf clients.

Your role will include the following activities:

  • Work with your assigned accounts to build a network of relationships across multiple functional areas and levels of the organization
  • Deeply understand each account’s challenges and opportunities in the portfolio planning and asset management spaces.  Identify how Copperleaf can make a difference to the account’s business and to the personal success of our champions
  • Co-create a solution roadmap with accounts where it makes sense for us to engage
  • Drive the procurement and commercial processes to successfully close business.
  • Lead a Copperleaf “deal team” to support both solution definition and sales process execution
