Employee Feature: Q&A with Cristiano Martincigh, Regional Sales Director, EMEA

Meet Cristiano Martincigh, Regional Sales Director for Southern Europe in EMEA. In this interview, Cristiano tells us about his career highlights, why he enjoys working at Copperleaf®, and what he’s looking forward to in the next year.

Can you tell us about your professional background and what led you to Copperleaf?

“I have a degree in statistics, but I’ve worked in ICT since the beginning of my career, always in sales-related roles. I spent the first 8 years working in the network security and cybersecurity space, and in 2011, I moved to an enterprise software company specialised in Field Service Management.

I was driven to Copperleaf because I wanted a new challenge. I went from Sales Director of an Italian company to a global organisation operating across five continents— I followed the need to get out of my comfort zone! I also really liked the approach that the people at Copperleaf had from day one, friendly but at the same time extremely professional.”

Can you share a bit about your role and what a typical week looks like?

“As the Regional Sales Director for Southern Europe, I’m responsible for growing and managing our footprint in France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. This gives me the opportunity to meet and work together with Jean-Martin Botto, Regional Sales Manager in France, who I consider a real talent, and Ibon Ruiz Escribano, Technical Sales Team Lead, who has also been crucial in supporting Southern Europe.

A number of clients have joined the Copperleaf Community this year, including Teréga in France and SGI in Italy. A typical week might include some sales activities, client workshops, or team events. Let’s just say I don’t get bored!”

What has been your best day at Copperleaf so far?

“I can’t tell you a best day, but I can tell you about my best week—the Sales Kick Off in Vancouver. It was a fantastic experience. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to start my adventure at Copperleaf. It was a busy week with lots of activities, but so well organised and it was amazing to meet so many colleagues from all over the world. A wonderful taste of what Copperleaf culture is all about, and it gave me so much energy to start 2023!”

How would you describe the company culture?

“I’d say it’s a culture of trust and helping each other. I have a team of fantastic colleagues who always offer support when I need it. The market is complicated, but it’s nice to know you can count on colleagues who will face your challenges as if they were their own.”

What are you looking forward to in the next year?

“The increasing awareness and maturity of Asset Investment Planning in Southern Europe presents the team with new challenges. We are excited to help drive the industry forward and support our growing client base.

One of my objectives is to host an Asset Investment Planning and Management (AIPM) Forum in Italy next year, similar to the event we held recently in Paris, to bring the community together to network, share and learn. We are also excited to work more closely with our partners at SAP, after we recently signed an Endorsed App agreement.”

What keeps you busy outside of work?

“I love playing football, which has been a passion of mine since I was a child, and lately I have also taken up running. In general, I like travelling, spending time with my family, and being outdoors as much as possible.”

What advice would you give to anyone considering joining Copperleaf?

“Copperleaf is a place where people are encouraged to give their best. Here, you can taste the feeling of working towards a common goal, and this brings out the hidden value in each of us.”
